Robert J. Eckert, 85 beloved husband of Margaret (nee Nowack), died at home on January 8, 2011.
Son of Henry and Anna (nee Gallagher) Eckert, Robert served in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1946 to 1948 and graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in 1952.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret (nee Nowack) Eckert, his brother John Eckert and his sister Sr. Mary Cordelia Eckert, R.S.M. Robert was also a dearly loved uncle to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers and sisters Joseph Eckert, Sr. Anne Regina Eckert, I.H.M., Clare Burruano, Eleanor Eckert, Paul Eckert and James Eckert. A thoughtful, considerate and caring man, Robert will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends may visit on Thursday January 13, 2011, from 10 to 11, followed by the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am at Saint Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Church, 1260 South Trooper Road, Norristown. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Norristown.
