ANGELINE BUSCAGLIA FORLANO OF CLIFTON HEIGHTS

 Angeline “Angie” Buscaglia Forlano, 88, of Clifton Heights, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2008 at her home.  She was the wife of Samuel Forlano, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. One of ten children, she was born in Windber, PA, the daughter of the late Francesco and Maria Concetta Nutori Buscaglia. Upon graduation from Windber High School in 1937, Angie came to Philadelphia and began working at Horn & Hardarts.  She married Sam in 1946 and together they raised five children.  She was a resident of West Philadelphia for many years before moving to Upper Darby in 1958.  In Upper Darby, she was employed at Gimbels-69th Street, first in the Will Call/Gift Wrap Department and later in the Credit Department, for more than 20 years before retiring in 1982. She was a former member of St. Donato’s Parish in West Philadelphia and St. Laurence Parish in Highland Park, and she was a current member of Holy Cross Parish in Clifton Heights where she and her husband served as Eucharistic Ministers, and attended daily mass until her health no longer permitted. A source of strength and inspiration to her family and friends, she was known for her glowing smile, her strong faith and devotion to the rosary.  She possessed a seemingly endless love for everyone she encountered.  She was especially devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren.  She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed baking miniature cookies, for which she was well known. In addition to her husband, Sam, Angie leaves behind her children, Philip N. Forlano and his wife, Laura, of Downingtown, Marie Norton and her husband, Joe, of Broomall, Jeanette Forlano Slaw of Exton, Cecilia Price and her husband, David, of Harrisburg, and Regina of Clifton Heights; ten grandchildren, Rev. Philip M. Forlano, Paul (Julianna) Forlano, Jennifer Slaw, Angela Price, Christina (Benoit) Derval, Erica Slaw, Danielle Price, Christopher Price, Emily Slaw and Samantha Price; and one great-granddaughter, Camille Derval; two brothers, Carl Buscaglia of Philadelphia, John (Beatrice) Buscaglia of Aldan; two sisters, Josephine (Daniel) Iannelli of Swarthmore and Clara Lucas of Windber; sister-in-law Erma Buscaglia of Upper Darby and her devoted caregiver, Oretha Nyernie.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Guy, Nunzio (Jerry) and Robert and two sisters, Megena and Mary. Angie’s funeral mass will be celebrated at 11AM on Thursday, June 26, 2008 at Holy Cross Church, Bishop Avenue and Springfield Road, Springfield, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11AM.  Interment at SS.
