Oscar Roy Frankenfield, age 91, passed away on November 6, 2007 with his daughters at his side.  Born in Philadelphia, he graduated from Olney High School and Philadelphia School of Office Training.  Roy was a decorated World War II veteran, having earned a Bronze Star Medal and others.  He was Chief Warrant Officer serving as assistant to the Adjutant General of the 2nd Armored Division in Africa, England, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.   Roy resided in Feasterville for 41 years, Warminster for six years, and in Bensalem for seven years. In his lifetime, he worked for Cunard White Star Line, Rock Island Lines, and Germantown Fireproof Storage Co.  He was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Feasterville since 1953 where he served as its first organist until 1960.  He was organist and choir director at Peace Lutheran Church, Kensington, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, West Oak Lane, St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Somerton, and choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church, Germantown in the 1930s.  Roy particularly enjoyed time spent tutoring students at the Davis Elementary School, Warminster and at Belmont Hills Elementary School in Bensalem.  He was a lover of classical music and an avid reader of religion, philosophy, and science.  As a resident of Wood River Village, Roy enjoyed playing the piano and leading sing-alongs for patients in the nursing unit.  He enjoyed reading to and taking walks with his grandchildren, playing golf, watching the Phillies on TV, and traveling with his loving wife of 63 years, Jean who preceded him in death.Roy was the beloved father of Wendy Larson and husband Gordon of Naperville, IL and Laurie Murphy and husband R. Patrick of Bensalem.  He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Seth and Meredith Larson of Chicago and Amanda Murphy of Washington, DC., and great-grandfather to Sage Larson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Service of Thanksgiving for his life on November 18, 2007 at 3:00 PM at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 65 E. Street Rd., Feasterville, PA 19053, where friends may call from 1:30 until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to St. Stephen’s Endowment Fund, address above.
