Samuel J. Tecce Jr. (65) husband of Mary Byrnes Tecce, of Warminster, passed from respiratory complications on October 15th. He was the son of Samuel J. Tecce Sr. and the late Mary Tecce. Surviving are his children Dr. Mary Jean and Dan DeCarlo, Kevin and Erin, Dan and Tina, and his nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Lin), his sisters in-law Anne Byrnes, Donna Byrnes, and brothers in-law, Jim Byrnes (Marge), John Byrnes (Adrienne), Jerry Byrnes & Fran Byrnes (Roe) and many nieces and nephews. He lived a full and active life for 25 years following a 1983 car accident which left him with a spinal cord injury. Sam served as a US Navy musician from 1963 to 1967 during the Vietnam War. He was assigned to the USS Independence. He proudly participated in the funerals of President John F. Kennedy and General Douglas A. MacArthur. He pursued a career in computers and continued his musical career with the American Legion, the Mummers, and various other musical groups. Sam volunteered with St David’s CYO, Nativity Parish Council, Ben Wilson Senior Center, VITA, Warminster Youth Aid Panel and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Football League. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Monday October 20, 2008 at 11am at Nativity of our Lord RC Church, 625 W. Street Road, Warminster PA 18974. Viewing in Church from 9:30am . Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Overbrook School for the Blind, Development Office, 6333 Malvern Ave., Philadelphia PA 19151.
