Richard Varadi, 67, on August 17, 2007, was born in Phoenixville and was very fond of his Phoenixville roots.  He loved to point out the various places he’d lived with his family, and he was very good at remembering details about the town from years past.  Richard spent school years at Elwyn, and as an adult moved to Rose Villa in West Chester, through Devereux.  Richard worked at Handicrafters in Thorndale, where he is fondly remembered for his good sense of humor.  He was an enthusiastic participant in Special Olympics, and he won many medals for track.  Richard kept busy with his housemates attending sports and community events, and the guys and staff where he lived were great friends to him.  Richard considered ‘home’ to be Phoenixville with his sister, Sharon, and her KenCrest Lifesharing family, Mary and Dennis Campbell-Martin.  Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday September 8, 2007 at 10:30am at St. Basil RC Church, Kimberton Rd & Rt 113, Kimberton PA 19442.  Visitation from 10am.  Arrangements by John J. Bryers Funeral Home of Willow Grove PA
