Claire Washinski, 98, of Hatboro, PA, loving wife, mother and friend, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2009.
Born in Philadelphia on July 22, 1911, she was the daughter of
Thomas B. and Esther (Gibson) Grace. She grew up in Immaculate Conception Parish in Germantown and lived in Philadelphia and Lansdowne until she moved to Hatboro, PA in 1968.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Washinski, her brother, Thomas R. Grace, and her sisters, Anne Snyder and Esther Vander Neut and her first husband, Royden A. Wunder.
Mrs. Washinski worked as a proof reader until her marriage to Mr. Washinski in 1968. In addition to enjoying being a homemaker, she was an excellent needle crafter and gardener.
She was the beloved mother of Thomas and Linda Wunder, Maryanne and Leonard Kravitz and Claire and Richard Kersey. Grandmother to Diane, Thomas and Douglas Wunder; Benjamin and Amy Kravitz and Alexandra and Steven Shroufe. Great-grandmother to James and Phineas Shroufe and Briona, Kerin and Michael Wunder. Her family will miss her dearly as well as her nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Visitation will be on Tuesday September 8, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 North Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
