William T. Kugler

William T. Kugler, 86, of Willow Grove, PA, passed away peacefully at Abington Hospital on April 19, 2024, surrounded by family. Bill was born July 15, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA and is a graduate of North Catholic High School.  He was preceded in death by his parents William A. Kugler and Mary Kugler (Coffey).  Brother to George Kugler (Anne) and Jean Summerhill (Charles). 

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Barbara (Saxon).  He was father to William R. Kugler (Jennifer), Bernadette Selgrath (William), Betsy Hopkins (Joseph), and Barbara Harris (Joseph).  G-Pop to: LaQuann Harris, David Hopkins, Dana Hopkins, MaryKate Selgrath, Dominic Harris, Will Kugler, Abigail Kugler, JW Hopkins, Billy Selgrath, Zachary Hopkins, and Kelly Hopkins.  GG-Pop to great grandchildren: Kalais Harris, Katalina Harris, and Kayleigh Lopez. 

Bill proudly served his country in the Air Force from 1957 to 1961.  After his service, he graduated from LaSalle College with a degree in Accounting.  He followed his passion as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA); he started and ran his own successful accounting firm until his retirement.  He served his community as a member of the Upper Dublin School Board from 1983-1987.  He enjoyed his retirement, traveling on cruises around the world with his wife Barb, supporting his grandchildren in all their endeavors, and was an active member of the St. John of the Cross and St. Catherine of Siena parishes.

His love of Philadelphia sports was legendary; he was there when the Flyers won their first Stanley Cup in 1974 and celebrated the Eagles’ first Superbowl win with his family in 2018. The Birds consumed his Sundays, and the Phils and Sixers made up the rest.  

Most importantly, Bill’s greatest joy was his family.  He always put them first, helping them in any way he could.  No favor was too great, and no call for help was left unheard.  His greatest legacy is that immense love.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Wednesday April 24, 2024 from 10am to 11am at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham PA 19044.  Memorial Mass to follow at 11am.

Interment will be private.
