August E. Evrard

August E. Evrard Sr., 92, affectionately known as “Lindy” formerly of Bethlehem Pa. passed away peacefully on March 31, 2018 at his home in Horsham on the eve of the first anniversary of his wife’s death.

Born in Bethlehem Pa. August was a 1943 graduate of Bethlehem Catholic High School, Lindy served in the Army before undertaking a multi-decade career as a product engineer for Bethlehem Steel.  He was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and an active congregant of Sacred Heart Church in Bath, PA for many years and later St Catherine of Siena in Horsham Pa. Lindy enjoyed music, particularly pipe organ classics, trains and planes, time with family, and a good game of pinochle.

Son of the late John and Elizabeth Evrard, he was predeceased (364 days) by his loving wife of 68 years Helen M. Evrard. He is survived by their five children, Marie I. Zoellner (Randy) of Walhalla SC, Helen M. Evrard of Middleton, CT, Linda E. Mc Andrew of Norristown PA, Anne M. DeLucia (Michael) of Horsham PA and August E. Evrard Jr. (Kathy) of Ann Arbor MI. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and a sister Delores Horvath.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday evening April 6, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 N Easton Rd., Willow Grove PA 19090, and on Saturday Morning April 7, 2018, from 10am to 10:45am at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 321 Witmer Rd., Horsham PA 19044. Funeral Mass to follow at 11am.

Burial to follow at 1:30pm at Sacred Heart Cemetery (The cemetery is located in Bath, Pennsylvania between Penn and Pearl Streets)
