Brian W. Foy, 57 of Glenside Pa, formerly of Jamison, passed away peacefully at Abington Hospital Hospice on Saturday December 7th. Brian was preceded in death by his mother Patricia Jackson Foy and father Philip J. Foy (Joan).
Brian came from a blended family. He was the brother to Donald (Denise), Kate O’Neill (Jim), Andrew (Teri), Michele Miles (Perry), Betty Hilary (Ed) and Debbie Griffith (predeceased). He is also survived by a supportive former wife Maria Totaro Foy and stepmother Judith Bunt, in addition to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Brian was a graduate of Castleton State College in Vermont, working for most of his career in business. Following his corporate career, he started a landscaping company called Eden’s Apple. Landscaping and gardening enabled him to work outside in nature and gave him some of the peace and solitude he desired. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated, leaving him unable to continue to do what he loved.
Brian was a fan of all sports and made many attempts on improving his golf game. He was very fond of the beach and was the most content when walking in the sand, looking for treasures. The many shells and mounds of sea glass he collected can attest to this. Brian also wrote many beautiful, insightful and heart wrenching poems that showed his family and friends how he saw himself in this world. His writings brought to light the fight with his demons and struggles to overcome them. He was a conflicted, beautiful soul.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Tuesday December 17, 2019 at 11:30am at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090. Visitation from 10:30am to 11:30am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Nature Conservancy or any charity of your choice.
