Dolores "Dee" Ruth (Shelmire) Johns

Dolores “Dee” Ruth Johns (nee Shelmire), 85, of Willow Grove, passed on October 14, 2019.

She is survived by her children Robert M. Johns (Michele), and Diana M. LaRosa, grandchildren Damian Michael LaRosa, Aja L. LaRosa, Sarah Wenzel (Jon), and Jacob L. Calderon, great grandson Chase Wenzel, a brother Raymond Shelmire, and a son in law Damian LaRosa.

She will be missed by her dog “Chopper”.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Sue Johns.

At Upper Moreland High School Dee played basketball, field hockey, and cheered on the Golden Bears.  As an adult, she coached Upper Moreland youth softball and cheerleading.

Dee was devoted to her family, but also greatly loved the Eagles, Phillies, and Temple University sports.  She was a voracious reader, and enjoyed her book club, and creative writing.

Always cheerful and engaged in life, Dee will be well remembered and greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Friday, October 18, 2019 at 11am at Willow Grove Methodist Church, 34 York Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090.  Viewing in church from 10am to 10:45am. 

Interment to follow in Hatboro Cemetery 36 Fulmore Ave, Hatboro, PA 19040.
