Margaret H. (Hartung) Hitt

Margaret H. Hitt, 88, of Willow Grove passed away peacefully on December 1, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Earle Hitt.  She is survived by her loving daughters Victoria H. May, Janet M. Hitt, and Amanda E. Hitt-Wolfinger (Skipper), and her 4 grandchildren Tori, Vinnie, Megan, and Stacy.

Margaret grew up in Mount Airy of Philadelphia, graduated from Germantown Friends School in 1949 and graduated from Skidmore College in 1953. Margaret worked at Barbin, Lauffer & O’Connell Law office for many years as a bookkeeper until she retired.

Margaret loves were her family, friends, pets, Ocean City, NJ, and holidays.  She also enjoyed watching her EAGLES, Phillies, March madness, going to her grandkids sport events like field hockey, softball, volleyball games, flowers, and feeding the birds in her yard. Margaret was a very active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Maple Glen. She served as a vestry member and altar guild.

Memorial Mass on Saturday January 4, 2020 at 10am at St Matthew's Episcopal Church, 919 Tennis Ave, Maple Glen, PA 19002. 

Visitation in church from 845am to 945am. 

Interment to follow in George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Ave, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462.
