Our beloved mother, Marion Bayer Stevenson passed away on February 11th, 2019.
Born October 21, 1926 in Olney, PA, daughter of Frederick C. Bayer and Margaret Wrightson Bayer.
She was preceded in death by her fellow adventurer and husband of 66 years, George S. Stevenson. Together they cruised through the Panama Canal, visited all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands and Europe. Marion had a big heart with room for everyone. She never met a stranger, turning chance encounters into lifelong friendships. She loved people, birds, shopping, playing cards, cheese & crackers, but most of all family. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. There was a special place in her heart for her nieces, nephews, and sons-in-law. Mom was always there for us...to dispense advice (when in doubt, lead a Queen), give solace (this too shall pass), or counsel patience (you’ll get your reward in heaven). Her life was full, and she was content to just be with the people she loved. In her oft-repeated words “I’ve had an elegant sufficiency, anything more would be an over abundancy”.
Marion is survived by her children, Marni (Herb), Eileen (Danny), Janis (Rick), Jack (Barb), and Nancy (Loren); grandchildren, Aurora (Jimmy), Georgia Blaire (Evan), Michael, and Alex (Jordane); great- granddaughter, Caitlyn.
