Peter J. Cerutti, 81, of Ambler passed on Sunday September 8, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Beverly A. Cerutti (nee Santagate), children Linda Heinrich (Gerald), and Anthony Cerutti, his sisters Sylvia Fuller, Rita Copithorne (Alan), and Carla Burke, his brother John Cerutti (Ruth), and his grandchildren Paul Heinrich, Mark Heinrich, and Laura Bender (Matthew).
Peter was preceded in death by his son Peter J. Cerutti, and his sister Barbara Hassard.
Peter worked for the General Electric company for 38 years in MA, NY, MI, NJ and PA. He was a machinist in the GE Apprentice program, then after many years of night school he obtained his engineering degree and worked as a Power Generation Engineer. After his retirement from GE, he worked at Keystone Screw in Willow Grove until 2 years ago.
Peter served for 10 years in the Massachusetts National Guard. He has been a member of Barbershop Harmony Society for 56 years, most recently singing in the Bryn Mawr Chapter. He was a USA Hockey referee for nearly 35 years, and was able to referee games with his grandsons. Peter was a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots dating back to when they were the Boston Patriots, enjoying many years of season tickets. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in New Hampshire with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday September 13, 2019 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Funeral Service to follow at 11 AM.
Interment will be private.
