Raymond Herot Obituary

Raymond Herot - On July 20, 2019, Ray passed away after a long battle with heart disease. Ray was a devoted husband, loving father, dear friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mildred, her two children Joseph Grossman(Virginia), Jessica Wilder (Alan), his son Michael who preceded him in death, his wife Paula and his son Jacob, His son Jeffery (Twila) and their children Ben, wife Sarah and daughter Katrina, Phillip, wife Kelly and daughter Enjoli Smith, husband Issac and their son Reuben. He will also be missed by his niece and dear friends CIndy Goodman and Robert Sheesley.

Ray was involved in the beginnings of the Mercury Space Program making his death on the anniversary of the moon walk all the more poignant. He worked for General Electric for many years retiring in his sixties only to return and work as a consultant for many years after that.

He was a Past Master of The Houseman Lodge No. 211 of the Free & Accepted Masons of Philadelphia.

Being born in Philadelphia but spending many years in Florida, Ray was an active person who loved swimming, snorkeling and all water sports. He was a master carpenter and the perfect handyman. He loved so many things but mostly he loved his wife and family who will miss him enormously.

There will be a celebration of his life sometime in September. Details to be determined at a later date.
