Adam Wengel Obituary

Adam C. Wengel, passed on January 29, 2025.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Adam Wengel announce his peaceful passing after an aggressive battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), and was truly an uphill battle that he fought so hard.  We are gathered here to celebrate the life of Adam.  His life was simple, full of love, wisdom, and most of all honesty.  He was an amazing human being.

Adam was born in Abington PA, and graduated from Abington High School in 1991.  His 52nd birthday was celebrated on January 25th.  Adam had a kindness and lots of humor and love to tell you funny jokes.  He loved to dance and was always the life of the party.  We are so grateful for the precious time we were able to spend with our son even though times with this disease were really tough.

As his mother, I will always cherish and miss all the great times and conversations we always had.  There is no recovery for losing a son, only the wonderful memories. The pain of losing a son is unbearable.  Adam’s death will leave a heartache that nothing will ever heal.  When God gives you a son it’s because you deserve to know what love is.  Adam, you made me very proud and even crazy sometimes, but most of all he showed me how to love with all my heart.

Time for me to say goodbye and my memories of you will be eternal.  I loved Adam and you went away, but we will meet again in paradise and that is exactly where you reside now.  God shall wipe away every tear and pain and death shall be no more.  You can not buy precious memories with silver or gold, they come to us without a price of years of life unfold.  So if you want precious memories as the years of life unfold, love one another, it is worth more than silver or gold.

As Adam would always said the words of Frank Sinatra “I DID IT MY WAY” and this exactly what he did.

I want to thank all the nurses at Einstein Montgomery, East Norriton PA, Hospice Care, which were so many, for the tender love and care they gave Adam during his illness.  They were all a blessing in his life.

Adam leaves behind his mother, Roberta Lynn Kuzer, his stepfather William Kuzer, his brother Jason, and his uncles Bud Lynn, and Kenny Wengel.  He was preceded in death by his father Stephen Wengel in 2018.

In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS Foundation Mid Atlantic in Fort Washington PA, in Adam’s memory would be greatly appreciated. https://alsmidatlantic.org/

Burial services will be private.
