Adrien (Skip) LeMieux Jr.
March 1, 1949 - September 11, 2023
Adrien passed away at the age of 74 a few days after suffering a massive stroke, while being cared for at Jefferson Northeast Hospital in Philadelphia. Adrien previously suffered a stroke 10 years ago, challenging his health and his ability to speak. The last few years, Adrien lived at Silver Lake in Bristol, where he was very well cared about and for by the fantastic staff. The family greatly appreciates their efforts these last few years.
Skip was born in Newport, Rhode Island into a career Navy family, as the eldest and only son to Adrien LeMieux and Mary Ann (Pieck) LeMieux, both of whom are now deceased. Subsequent years brought them to Quincy, MA, Newport News and Norfolk, VA, Northeastern PA, Willow Grove and Horsham, PA, being joined along the way by sisters Karen (Crowley) and then Susan (Heger).
Adrien graduated from Abington High School in 1968 and then did some course work at Montgomery County Community College. Adrien always enjoyed the outdoors, with fishing, camping and canoeing being highest on the list. He enjoyed chess and science fiction, and was an avid reader and collector of such. He was often recognized in the area by his red Dodge Ram Dualie pickup truck, of which he was most proud.
In August of 1969, he and some of his friends heard about an amazing music festival up in New York and hopped in his forest green 1966 Ford Galaxie to go! Woodstock was an amazing experience for him, having reportedly sat next to Janis Joplin at a bar, and even made it onto the cover of the album!
Adrien is survived by his sisters Karen (Jay Shelov) and Susan (Rich Heger), their respective children Jonathon Crowley (Laura), Jessica Heger (Ed), and Jeffrey Heger. There are also cousins, nieces and nephews.
A private memorial will be held in October with immediate family members.
