Alejandro Gonzalez-Repiso Obituary

Alejandro (Al) González Repiso, 81, passed away peacefully on June 21,2026 after a long bout with cancer.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rosemary D’Alessio,his brother Juan José González Repiso, his sisters-in-law: Sr. Anne D’Alessio, Charlene Brock and Jean Hirschmann, his brother-in-law Geoffrey Brock as well as many loving nephews and a niece and their children.

Alejandro was born in Burgos, Spain, but at 18 he began traveling around Europe and lived in London, Paris, Munich, Turin and Rome where he worked at a variety of jobs, such as: professional artist, radio actor for the RAI, actor in a s “spaghetti western”,assistant in the Embassy of Nepal in London, transcriber of files at the Max Planck Institute, to name a few.

At 30 years of age he moved to Madrid, Spain where he taught English and continued painting. There he met his wife who was working there as an English teacher at the time. They married in 1984 and although they lived in Madrid they spent weekends at their peaceful, little home in the countryside. Upon retirement in 2016,they relocated to Philadelphia.

Alejandro was loved by everyone who knew him. He had 3 great passions: books, specifically those of a religious nature, JS Bach and classical music in general and on a lighter note, soccer and Real Madrid.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Tuesday June 30, 2026 from 9am to 10am at Our Mother of Consolation, 9 E Chestnut Hill Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19118.  Funeral Mass will follow at 10am.

Interment is private

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Development Fund for Advancement for the Retired Oblates, PO Box 87, Childs, MD 21916
