Barbara Jane Madden (nee Yeakel), passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 11th, 2023. Born November 4th, 1953 to Howard and Carole Yeakel (nee Viola), she is survived by Brion Madden, her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, who was the love of her life. She is also survived by her sister Kathy Applegate (Ed), brother-in-law Richard Madden, sister-in-law Elaine Speer (Tom), 11 nieces and nephews, 4 grand nieces and 2 grand nephews. She was a graduate of Archbishop Wood High and the Lankenau School of Nursing. Her career started at Lankenau Hospital, then took her to Abington and Roxborough Hospitals, and she retired from Doylestown Hospital as the operating room manager. Her ability to tell a story was legendary; she could draw you in and have you laughing in seconds. The beach was her happy place, and she loved the crashing of the waves, spotting dolphins off in the distance, and enjoying the quiet serenity of Margate City. She was fiercely independent, which was tempered by her love of helping others. Her insight was quick, direct and to the point, and she was loved and respected for that. There is another star in the heavens tonight, and it is the one that shines bright and twinkles like laughter.
