Barbara Smith

Barbara D. Smith passed away February 9, 2023 at her home, the place she most loved to be.  Born in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania to Joseph and Catherine (Rizzo) Zizzo on January 19, 1934 and grew up with four older sisters Frances, Palmy, Theresa, Rita, her younger brother John, and her nieces, Cathy and Diane.  As a young woman she moved to Philadelphia where she met and married her husband, Charles E. Smith Jr. They moved to Memphis, TN in 1967 their oldest son  Charles (Katrina) Smith was born.  In 1968 they moved to Oak Harbor, WA on Whidbey Island where Lisa (Bill) Rodebaugh, Michael, and Susan (Bill) Brooks were born.  She loved her children deeply and well.  In 1978 they moved to Gladwin MI and they all returned to Philadelphia in 1982. Her most treasured grandchildren are: Katherine and Anna Smith; William, Andrew, Jonathan, Luke, and Katie Jo Rodebaugh and AnnaLisa Zizzo; Ryan and Shawn Brooks.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years Charles; brother John (Ellie) Zizzo, and a devoted family of children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
