Bernice (Wagner) Kershaw

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernice Kershaw on January 15th, 2025 at the age of 78. 

Born on November 10th, 1946 in Philadelphia PA, to Genevieve and David Wagner.  She was sister to Gerald, John and Gary.

Bernie married Fred Kershaw III on November 19th, 1966, and together they built a loving home in Willow Grove PA.  They shared 58 beautiful years of marriage and created a legacy of love, respect, and devotion.

She is survived by her beloved chidren Fred and Karen, her son-in-law Rocco Ianieri and her brothers John and Gary Wagner.  She was the proud Mom Mom of 4 grandchildren Kevin Kershaw, Alyssa Ianieri, Kyle Kershaw and Gianna Ianieri. 

Bernie loved entertaining and having friends and family over to their cherished home of 40 years in Willow Grove.  Christmas was a holiday that she really showed her love for cooking, baking and decorating and anyone who visited could truly feel her joy of the Season.  Summer BBQ’s were a plenty and fun time was always had by all. Family meant the world to her, and once her 4 grandchildren were born, she fell head over heels for each of them, always spoiling them and showering them with love and attention.

Fred and Bernie spent their 15 years since retirement together all the time and loving every minute of it!  They enjoyed trips to Ocean City, NJ or The Poconos.    Dinners out with great friends were always something they looked forward to. 

Bernie and Fred moved to Ann’s Choice retirement community in 2021, where they were able to spend the past few years enjoying easy retirement living.  Although Bernie struggled with dementia the past number of years, Fred was an amazing, and supportive husband and caretaker, who always kept her busy and active as he knew, it was important to help keep her symptoms at bay. Sadly, four months ago, Bernie was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and spent the next few months in Rosegarden at Ann’s choice where she received wonderful care.   Fred was there every day visiting her which always kept a smile on her face.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday January 20, 2025 from 10am to 10:45am at St. David RC Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090.  Funeral Mass will follow at 11am.

Interment will be at St. John Neumann Cemetery, 3797 County Line Rd, Chalfont, PA 18914.
