OBITUARY

BRIAN T. SHANNON

March 21, 1948 – February 18, 2024

Brian T. Shannon, 75 of Willow Grove PA passed away at his home on Sunday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by family and friends.  

Born March 21, 1948, in Delmar, Delaware, he was preceded in death by his parents John T. and Elizabeth Shannon, older brother John T. Shannon, and older sister Ursula Shannon Leslie.

He is survived by his older brother Philip C. Shannon; nieces, Colleen Shannon; Maureen Shannon; Paula Shannon; Jennifer Kenzie; nephew Brian Shannon; and many great nieces and nephews.  

Brian was a graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School, and a graduate of Montgomery County Community College.

He was a member of several Catholic Parishes in Philadelphia, Willow Grove, and Horsham,

Brian worked in the computer industry at IBM, Genicom Corporation, Decision Data, and Computer Lab International for many years.

Brian also worked as a conductor and passenger assignment clerk for SEPTA from 2007 to 2010

After retirement he enjoyed several part time jobs at local automotive related businesses.

He had a lifelong love affair with trains, both real and model, and was very knowledgeable about all things relating to trains.

Brian was very involved in his community of Willow Grove & Upper Morland Township, as a volunteer by serving on multiple committees from 2011 to present. Those committees were: Revitalization Task Force, Transportation Impact Advisory Committee, and Advisory Planning Agency.

Brian was a member of with the VFW and American Legion of Willow Grove.

Brian will be greatly missed by family, his close friends from the neighborhood, and the surrounding community.

His many furry friends were a very important part of his life.  

Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service on Monday February 26, 2024 at 12:30pm at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 Easton Road Willow Grove PA 19090. 

There will be a visitation before the service from 11:30am to 12:15pm.

Interment will be private.
