Deskouhy Attarian (nee Damerjian) of Doylestown passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 8, 2021.
“Des” was the daughter of the late David and Tevolinda Damerjian and was born and raised in Philadelphia along with her 5 siblings. She was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School. In 1952 she married Martin Attarian and they raised their family; first in Huntington Valley, Pa and then in Doylestown Township where she had resided since 1966.
She had worked many years in various women’s apparel shops. In the 1970’s and 1980’s she was employed at the Margaret Helm’s Dress shop on State Street in Doylestown and then later worked many years at Talbot’s at the Ag Works.
She was proud of her Armenian heritage and was active in her church. But most of all, she was devoted to her family.
Des is survived by her husband of over 68 years, Martin. In addition, by her children; Aram (Linda) Attarian of Morganton NC; Leon Attarian of Chalfont PA; Edward Attarian of New Britain Township, PA and Lesly Attarian (Phil Charron) of Philadelphia. Also, by her grandson Adam Attarian of Seattle Washington.
She is also survived by her brother Robert (Lorraine) Damerjian and sisters Berjouhi Bosnian; Opy (John) Eskandarian; and Linda (Rich) Vishab as well as her brother-in-law Vince Karakashian and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her sister Hermine Karakashian and her brother-in-law John Bosnian.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 101 Ashmead Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.

The Scaramuzzos
March 11, 2021 3:18 AMOur family will miss Mrs. Attarian and her infectious smile, her art of telling a story, the adoration she had for her family, how often I had to shoo her and her sister away from dishes at our Easter gatherings, her amazing Pilaf, and her Easter Bread. She simply made this world a kinder, more flavorful, and more fun place. We were blessed to have her in our life.

Melani Kodikian
March 10, 2021 7:46 PMDuring the Christmas pot luck dinner at church Ani found the dessert table. At 2 years old her eyes barely reached the top of the table. And there was Aunt Des helping her reach the treats. It's a moment burned in my brain. She was so sweet and loving to us and doted on my kids. The duck hats she knitted the twins at birth are in their keepsake box. She will be missed tremendously.
