OBITUARY OF DINA TENZI EAGAN
Dina Tenzi Eagan, of Huntingdon Valley, passed away on November 27, 2021, her 90th birthday. She was born in Tuckahoe, New York, the daughter of Concezio and Giovaninna DiGiuseppe.
She was the beloved wife of the late William B. Eagan, Esquire, with whom she had shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother to her four surviving daughters Linda Eagan Penrod (Robert Woodruff) of Doylestown, Dina Eagan Lucas (Brian, predeceased) of Blue Bell, Sheryl A. Thomson (Michael) of Lenoir City, TN, Janet R. Howard (Edward) of Ambler, loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren, Jake (Erin), Tim (Sofia), Lauren, Bill, Jenny, Matt, Tommy, Kristin, Joey, Jess, Alyssa, and adoring great-grandmother to Camila. She is also survived by her brother Ezio DiGiuseppe, and other treasured family including Gladys DiJoseph and Jacqueline Mascuch. She was preceded in death by her brothers Frank DiGiuseppe and Herman DiJoseph.
A first generation Italian-American, she was determined to learn English and mastered it quickly. She brought that same determination to everything she did in life. She was accepted to Philadelphia High School for Girls then pursued her college education at Temple University where she met her husband.
She was active in her community and her church, and supported her children's many activities. She served on the board of the Women's Club of Willow Grove, taught CCD at St. David Roman Catholic Church, participated in an expansion of the Upper Moreland Library, and was a member of several organizations including the Red Hat Society, the Upper Moreland High School Booster Club and many Upper Moreland Prom Committees. She managed to effortlessly balance all of these activities while caring for her family and working with her husband in his law practice for many years.
Her interests were many and varied including keeping up with current events, playing bridge with friends, and cheering on all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Philadelphia Phillies.
Her family and those who were fortunate to know her well, appreciated her spunky personality and humor. Her grandchildren were particularly delighted when Mom-Mom would tease Pop-Pop.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dina's visitation on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at St. David Roman Catholic Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090, which will be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial.
