Douglas J. Leirer of Warrington, passed away peacefully with his son Shawn, and fiancé Kristin by his side on Friday, March 31, 2023.

Doug was born on March 14, 1969.  He grew up in Churchville, PA where he attended Council Rock High School.  From there he embarked on an adventurous career as a cameraman with his father Joe as his companion.  Doug had a zest for life as he traveled the world doing what he loved most- working behind the  camera. He touched the lives of those he worked with by his kindness, quick wit and great sense of humor.  To Doug, life was to be lived, no time for negativity, as he found the positive in everything.

But the most important thing to Doug was family.  He loved his family with everything he had in him, especially his son Shawn. Nothing made him prouder.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Catherine Dolores (Zeigler)Leirer, and his brother-in-law Dennis Chapman.

Doug is survived by his son Shawn X. Leirer, fiancé Kristin Hendricks Rebuck, and his three siblings Joseph Leirer Jr.(Susan), John Leirer(Jean), Patricia Chapman(Leirer),and Shawn’s mother, Kristy Hertzog Leirer. He is loved by his nieces Kate, Stephanie, Brittiny, and Tricia, as well as his nephews Joe, Dennis Jr. and great nephews Cameron, Rhys, Wesley, Oliver and great niece Lilly.

Relative and friends are invited to a funeral Mass celebration of Doug’s life at St. David Church 400 N. Easton Rd. Willow Grove, Pa 19090 on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 10:30am. Visitation in church from 9:30am to 10:30am. Burial to follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery.
