Edison Demjanczuk of Northeast Philadelphia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is a loving husband to Maria Luiza Demjanczuk (Romanyszyn) for the last 51 years. He is a devoted father to Michelle, (Jay Lapkiewicz) Melissa, the late Kenny, and Jason (Maggie Demjanczuk). He is the proud grandfather to Harley, Skyler, and Nathan Kenny. Edison is the adored son of Nina Demjanczuk and the late Mikolaj Demjanczuk. Edison was born in Porto Alegre, Brasil and relocated to the United States at the age of 16. He lived in Seattle, Washington with his parents, his brother Wilson, (Miriam Demjanczuk) and sister Dina (Gerson Stumpf).
Edison met his future bride, Maria at the McCall School for English Language in 1966, then settled in Philadelphia. He attended college and became an accomplished mastery of technique in the auto body industry and still the finest in the field. He was known to his colleagues as “Fast Eddie” for his superb talent restoring vehicles with such meticulous detail and speed, with an astonishing result. Cars are his passion and he shared that with his 2 sons. Edison will always be remembered for being an Elvis Presley enthusiast, never refusing a McDonalds vanilla ice cream cone, working on his favorite car, his Saab 900, rejoicing in the Florida sun on vacation, and lounging with his cats especially the late Joey. Edison is known as “Daya” to his children & grandkids, and always called “Bem” by his beloved wife. We will keep your memory alive until we meet again.
Private family service only, will be held for Edison. Please reach out to the Demjanczuk family to express condolences and share a memory of Edison.
