Frank Emmerich Obituary

Frank R. Emmerich of North Wales, passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2022.  He was 81 years old.  Frank was the loving and devoted husband to Margaret (nee Lafferty) for 57 years.  Frank was the caring and loving father to Peggy Theresa and Frank R. Jr. (Angela Corbo) and doting  “Poppy”  to Ryan and Anna.  Frank is survived by his siblings Iris “Nancy” (Jack) Minker, Harry (Patricia) Emmerich, and Virginia (Jerry) Waters as well as many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents Iris (nee Dormer) and Harry Emmerich, and nephew, Harry J. Emmerich.

Frank grew up in Willow Grove and attended Upper Moreland High School where he played football and volunteered for many years with the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Department. He spent the majority of his career working in management for Sears.  He and Margaret enjoyed working together.  They owned and operated a gift shop in Willow Grove and later purchased Canterbury Tales Book Shoppe in Peddlers’ Village.  He spent his retirement years working for Upper Moreland School District as a bus driver for students with special needs.  He saved his favorite job for last as he loved the students!

In his free time, Frank loved to fish, watch the Phillies and Eagles, decorate for Christmas, tinker and fix things but mostly loved to spend time with his family especially at Bear Creek Lake.  He was a volunteer of The Willow Grove Community Development Corporation. He will be remembered as a true gentleman; he was kind, compassionate, caring, helpful and respectful.
