Haver Moody Obituary

Mr. Haver Moody, A loving, Gentle and Talented man…His Life Story.

Haver departed this life on Thursday October 5th, 2023, peacefully at the Roosevelt Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Haver Moody was born on February 19, 1962 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The son of Thomas Moody, Sr. (deceased) and Mary Jane Crawford Moody, (deceased).  Haver held the honor of being a son, brother, cousin, and uncle.  Although he never married – he was interested in a few special ladies.  They had the privilege to be his honey and to call him sweetheart. Yet, these wonderful titles were merely the part of his journey and not nearly enough to describe him as an individual.

Let’s talk about his education, hobbies and work.  Haver received his education in the public schools of Philadelphia.  He was a graduated of Jules E. Mastbaum High School Class on 1982.  Mastbaum School today no longer have a music program. But let me tell you about haver’s musical talents.  He joined the school band and his skills soared. Haver played fluently the horn, flute, and piano. But his special love was the Saxophone.

Haver was called affectionally “The Saxophone Man”. A name given to him by his younger brother Eddie.

Haver also enjoyed sports like basketball, and football. He enjoyed checkers and as a chess player too. He enjoyed eating hoagies and Kentucky Fried Chicken, but would eat Popeye’s Chicken if it was available. He loved to wash it down with a Pepsi Soda. And he loved his dessert. He loved sweets. We hope you knew and felt our love. Sleep in peace until you hear Jehovah’s son Jesus say “Come on out Haver Come out.”  John 5:28,29

Haver’s memory will be cherished by his three brothers – Leroy (Angelia) Eddie and Clarence, one sister Gloria Taylor (Duane Sr.), one great aunt Rachel (96 years old), 8 aunts, 2 uncles, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins friends, many of whom were like brothers.

Relatives and Friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Saturday October 21, 2023 promptly at 11am at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090.  There will be a visitation from 10am to 10:45am before the Memorial Service.
