Helene M. Lyons

Helene M. Lyons, 73, of Hatboro, Pennsylvania, passed away on April 18, 2026.

Helene lived a life rooted in compassion, joy, and service to others. She dedicated her professional life to working with special needs children through the Bucks County Intermediate Unit for the Centennial School District, where she made a lasting difference in the lives of countless students and families.

Helene was also widely known and cherished as “Chippy the Clown,” a role she embraced for more than 40 years. Known as the littlest clown with the biggest heart, Chippy believed that bringing joy to others came from within. Her life’s mission was to spread happiness, laughter, and kindness to people of all ages. She performed at charitable events to raise money for holiday toys for children and brought smiles to faces at hospitals, shelters, and nursing homes throughout the suburbs. Through Chippy, Helene touched countless lives and created lasting memories for so many.

She was a devoted member of Gilda’s Club, where she received support along with many others facing cancer. Helene also enjoyed attending antique car shows with her beloved husband Marty and many dear friends, creating treasured memories along the way.

Helene is survived by her loving husband, Martin A. Lyons; her son, Thomas W. Bowie and his wife Cindy; her cherished grandchildren, Grace, Miley, Jackson, and Aidan; her brother, Edward Lampert; and her beloved dog, Drea.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Shirley Lampert, and her brother, Neil Lampert.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Helene’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all those she touched.
