James P. Lee, Sr.

James Patrick Lee, Sr., 77, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024 after a very public, hard fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Jane, children James P. Lee Jr. (Erin), Jennifer Lee Fiander, and Devon Lee DeRosa (Dominic), grandchildren Eva, Lila, Sophie, Fiona, Callum, Seamus, and Baby “Bean” on the way. He was affectionately known as Pop Pop and Big Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lee and Anna (Coffey) Lee.

Jim was generous with his time serving his community throughout his adult life while acting as a mentor in the organizations most important to him. He was a life member of the Second Alarmers Rescue Squad and spent more than 55 years with the Willow Grove Volunteer Fire Company. Until the time of his death he served as President of the newly formed Upper Moreland Township Volunteer Fire Department. Jim was a long-time member of the Masonic Order of W K Bray Southampton Lodge No 410. His true passion was the railroad with a career spanning 41 years. He  proudly worked for Reading Railroad, Conrail, and Septa, retiring as Chief Supervisor of Operations, Control Center.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm at John J. Bryers Funeral Home 406 Easton Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090. A visitation will be held from 10am to11am prior to his Memorial Service at 11am Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at the  Doylestown United Methodist Church 320 E. Swamp Road Doylestown, PA 18901. Interment will immediately follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 3301 W Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
