Jessie A. (Coble) Smith

Jessie A. Smith of Warminster PA passed away peacefully at home on Monday April 17, 2023 after a battle with Mesothelioma.  Jessie was born to Louise (Smith) Signore on December 29, 1942.  She was adopted and raised by Ida Mae Coble and John Coble in the Ambler/Trooper area.  She graduated Norristown High school.  She married Jack “Skipper” Tague of Norristown and spent many years together living in Bermuda, Tennessee and Maryland before settling to raise their family in the Warminster area.

Jessie worked at Decision Data in the shipping and receiving department eventually moving into the payroll department, where she retired after 30 plus years.  In 1989 Jessie married Lewis Smith of Wycombe PA and enjoyed many years of traveling until Lew’s death in 1993

Jessie loved to camp and travel with her family and friends.  One of her favorite trips was a cruise to Alaska.  Jessie was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and didn’t miss watching a game GO BIRDS.  She also loved to quilt.  She made several quilts that are enjoyed by her family.  

Most of all Jessie enjoyed her Happy place down the shore at her Guppy home.  She loved spending weekends and after she retired she spent the whole summer season at Guppy.  Known as Momma Guppy she helps to start the annual Labor Day block party which is still enjoyed by all the residents on Guppy.  

Jessie is survived by her son Jack, and wife Stacy, Her daughter Jenny who was her primary caregiver in her final days, and 2 grandchildren that she adored, Patrick Doyle and Alysen McGowan, wife of Matthew McGown.  She is also survived by her sisters Danette McBride (Gary) and Suzette Cicchetti.  She is preceded in death by a brother Herman (Kathy) along with many cousins, nieces, and nephews,.  She also leaves behind several close friends; Diane Shafer, Dolores Simonetta,  her Guppy gang, and many many former coworkers who she remained close to over the years. 

Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services will be held John Bryers Funeral Home in Willow Grove on Thursday April 20, 2023.  Visitation from 11am to 12pm. Services start at 12.
