John S. Bevan, son of Mary Heist Bevan and David Crumley Bevan, father of Mark, Michael and J Thomas Bevan, and grandfather of Alex, Dillon, DJ, Elie, Lily, and Sienna Bevan, passed away on April 12, 2022. Born and raised in the Philadelphia area, he was a graduate of The Haverford School, Princeton University (’63) and Temple University Law School (’67). He served as Captain in the US Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps and practiced law for 21 years at Duane Morris, LLP where he was a partner. His avid support of the Native American Rights Fund and the Southern Poverty Law Center were emblematic of his championship of marginalized and oppressed people. He loved film, literature, photography, music, and a long line of cats and dogs. His final resting place will be in the Churchyard of St Christopher’s in Gladwyne.
