John Charles Covolesky, Sr. – 6/26/24
John Charles Covolesky, Sr., beloved husband of the late Dolores Marie Covolesky, passed away peacefully in our Lord’s loving embrace on June 26th, 2024 with family by his side.
John was born on August 13th, 1937 in Minersville, Pennsylvania. He is predeceased by his loving parents, Charles and Stella Covolesky, and his brothers Charles, Jr. Covolesky and Robert Covolesky and his sister Joan Shephard. John is survived by his sister, Mary Lou McDonald (Vincent McDonald deceased), and his two sons, John Jr. Covolesky (Giselle) and Daniel Covolesky. He was the proud grandfather of Madison and Reagan Covolesky.
John was a retired Senior Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, proudly serving with the Air National Guard at the Willow Grove Naval Air Station. Prior, he served in the United States Army as a Security Specialist for the N.I.K.E. Homeland Defense Systems. He served honorably throughout his military career, retiring after 36 years in the United States military.
John was an American Patriot, and he took great pride in serving his country, thus instilling this legacy of service in both of his sons. John was committed to giving back to his community and church. John served for many years as an usher at St. David’s Roman Catholic Church of Willow Grove and as a Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
John was an avid fisherman who embraced nature and had a great love for animals, especially for his dog Skipper. His proudest achievement in his life was earning the title of Grandpa, and he embraced every moment with his granddaughters Madison and Reagan.
Through his giving and selfless nature, John made everything memorable with his sense of humor and easy going nature. He cherished relationships and he had a special way of making friends with everyone.
John’s life will be celebrated with a public viewing and service on Monday, July 8th, 2024 starting at 10:00AM at St. David’s Roman Catholic Church, 316 Easton Road in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Followed by Mass at 11am.
Burial will be at 1:15pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown PA.
