Joseph D. Martin
April 8, 1935 – December 28, 2022
Devoted husband of the late Marion Martin (nee Bernocco), loving son of the late Evelyn and Joseph Martin. Loving father of Stephanie (Mark) Swanson, Dorothy (Bob) Schoenfeldt, Teresa (the late David) Folger, Evelyn Sarachman and Catherine (Ashjan) Martin. Grandpop to Kristina (Shawn) Brennan; Sara (Danny) Gill; David (Croce) Amato-Folger, Matthew (Alex), Andrew and Jacqueline Sarachman. Great grandpop to Lochlan and Nora Brennan, Jordan, Julian, Jaren and Janelle Gill.
Joe was a 1953 graduate of West Catholic High School, active in sports and was a lettered man. He was awarded a Service Commendation while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Retired from the U.S. Postal Service at 30th Station after 35 years of service. Joe was a member of the Post 315 American Legion, the American Postal Workers Union, Marine Corps Association, Lifetime member of the National Rifleman Association, St. David’s Senior’s Church Group, and a frequent volunteer for
“Wills for Heroes Pennsylvania.”
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing and Mass to be held at St. David Roman Catholic Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090, on January 4, 2023. Viewing 9:30 to 10:15 am; Mass 10:30 am. Interment to follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School, 401 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
