Josephine L. (DeCristoforo) Fedele

On Tuesday May 22, 2018, Josephine Fedele of Doylestown and Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home died peacefully at the Doylestown Hospital with her children and family at her side.

She was the devoted wife of 68 years to Saverio (Save) who passed away in 2016. She is survived by her sons Pasquale (Beth), Saverio (Carol), Joseph and Richard (Marguerite), her grandchildren, Joann (Matt), Chris (Sharon), Dana, Nicole, Joseph (Katie), Gina (LeRoy), Quinn Renee( Michael), Richard ( Megan) , along with 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews

Born on April 29, 1928, in Philadelphia to first generation Italian immigrants, she was the daughter of Sabastian Decristofor and Josephine (Cerino). She attended Simon Gratz High school where she was active in selling war bonds. She also excelled in academics and swimming. After graduation, her family moved to Willow Grove where she worked in her mother’s Italian deli. She also worked at Willow Grove Park, where she met her husband Saverio. She later worked in the retail food industry before retiring from Prudential Insurance.

Before moving to Doylestown she was a longtime Horsham resident, where she and her husband raised their family. She was active in the community being a founding member of the Horsham Huddlers/Hawks football program and member of the Hatboro-Horsham Parents Booster Association. She was a regular, selling her hoagies and signature meatball sandwiches in the refreshment stand during Little League Baseball Games and other community events.

Her love of life and family was evident to all that knew her. She was a caring individual who always thought of others first. She loved to travel and party with her friends but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially Sunday dinners.

Viewing Thursday Morning May 31, 2018 from 10am to 10:45am at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044.  Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11am

Interment Friday, June 1, 2018 at 8:45am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.

Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Doylestown Hospital Nurses Fund or Neshaminy Manor Nursing Home.
