Kathleen Franklin Obituary

Kathleen “Katie” Franklin (nee Carroll)  (June 10, 1968 - May 6, 2020) of Horsham, passed away from complications due to cancer.  She is the beloved youngest sibling of the Carroll family.  She is survived by her son, Thomas Franklin, her mother Margaret Carroll,  sister Joan Scavuzzo (Chuck), brother Franny Carroll and brother Michael Carroll (Linda) and her former husband, Richard Franklin.  She was a favorite aunt to nieces and nephews Sam Scavuzzo (Hannah), Caroline Scavuzzo, Ana Scavuzzo, Brendan Carroll (Gabby), Sofia Carroll and Michael F. Carroll.

Katie was a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School and she worked for the last twenty years as Office Manager for the Southern Company in Willow Grove.   She is remembered as someone who was true to herself and her family, especially her son Tommy,   loved good music, art, good company and animals.  As the youngest in the family she was especially cherished by her Mother, Father and siblings.  She was the “cool” aunt to all her nieces and nephews and enjoyed spending time with them.

Like her father, who she loved dearly and missed especially, she had a special fondness for Frank Sinatra.  She also loved the Grateful Dead and the paintings of Monet.  She had a special relationship with her mother, Peggy, with whom she shared many traits.   Beyond the immediate family, she was part of a large extended Irish American family and proud of her heritage.  She enjoyed family reunions and any chance to get together with family and friends.

Gone far too soon.      God rest her soul.

Our family wishes to thank the staff at Abington Asplundh Cancer Center and Abington Hospice Warminster for their loving care of Katie.
