Kevin Carlin

Kevin Carlin passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. He was 79.

Mr. Carlin of Wyndmoor was born in Queens, New York on August 12, 1944 and was the son of the late George and Helen (née Mannion) Carlin. He was a graduate of Power Memorial High School and Fordham University and would later earn his MBA at Bryant College.

Kevin was a retired computer programmer, and he worked in many areas along the Eastern Seaboard, where he and his wife of 54 years Janis would raise their family and build community: West Warwick, RI; Rockaway, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Hanahan, SC; and Camden, DE. Kevin wrapped up his career as a mainframe consultant for the DEA. 

Kevin was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Giants and a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus (Faithful Navigator; 4th Degree). 

A friendly introvert, Kevin enjoyed puzzles and trivia (loved ones knew not to call during Jeopardy), and he couldn’t resist an opportunity to make a joke or a perfect pun. He was a gentle giant of a man who loved his family with his whole heart. 

Kevin is survived by his wife Janis (née Johnson) Carlin, and their three sons: Kevin Carlin, wife Jennifer; Daniel Carlin; Michael Carlin & two daughters:  Theresa Rockman; and Loretta Henry,  husband Philip. One sister Lynn Gibson, husband Gary. Eight grandchildren: Gregory, Dean, Tony; Diana, Jaryd; Brendan (mother Melody); Trey & Luke & many beloved nieces and nephews. 

Kevin was predeceased by his brother George Carlin, wife Ann; and his brother John, wife Peggy. 

There will be a visitation Wednesday evening from 6pm to 8pm at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home at 406 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

On Thursday there will be a visitation 9:30am to 10:15am at St. David RC Church at 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090.  His Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30. 

A private burial will take place at a later date.
