Laura (Walsh) Forrest

On Saturday, August 22, 2020, Laura Forrest, loving wife and mother to one, passed away at the age of 55.

Laura was born on September 16, 1964 and grew up in Villanova, PA to Michael and Neva (Menear) Walsh. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy High School in 1982, received her BSN from Vanderbilt University in 1986 and her MSN from MCP Hahnemann University in 2001. Laura started her professional career in nursing at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in 1986 and continued there for 34 years. On May 5, 2000, she married Paul R. Forrest. Together they raised their loving daughter, Julia Lyn in Willow Grove, PA.

Laura was an excellent nurse practitioner. She loved caring for her patients and looked forward to seeing them every day. She also loved the New Jersey Shore, vacationing in Avalon almost every summer where she especially liked to read on the beach. At home she enjoyed gardening and getting crafty to decorate around the home. Laura was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, closely following the Eagles along with Villanova basketball.

Laura was preceded in death by her father, Michael. She is survived by her husband Paul, her daughter Julia, her mother Neva, her sisters Kathryn McCarey (late John), Patricia Bader (Mark), and Caroline Gillen (Mark), her brother Michael Walsh III (Kerry), and her many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Relatives, friends, and colleagues are invited to attend her Visitation on Thursday September 10, 2020, from 9:30Am to 11AM at St. David Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090 followed by her Memorial Mass at 11 AM.

Accessing the University of Delaware website at udel.edu/stupayment to make a payment into Julia’s student account. To make a payment, the person providing the payment will need to know Julia’s UDID number (702510729). Payers will be able to make payments using online check or credit card.

Forwarding payments directly via USPS to: Cashiers Office / 30 Lovett Avenue / Newark, DE 19716. Checks should be made payable to: University of Delaware and should have a note explaining the payment is for Julia Forrest’s tuition, and include Julia’s UDID number.
