Marie E. (Valenza) Masten

Marie Elizabeth Masten (nee Valenza), formerly of Hatboro, PA., passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, surrounded by family in Ship Bottom, NJ. 

Marie, a dedicated RN, retired 30 years ago from Abington Memorial Hospital  after providing more than 40 years of service in the ER.  She was a spirited little lady who loved flower arranging, wreath-making, crafts and gardening. An avid reader for many years, Marie also enjoyed the beach, playing games on her Kindle, making pizzelles, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly call her “Memmy”.

Marie graduated from St. Agnes Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Horsham, PA, for over 60 years.

She is survived by her daughters: Deborah Masten of Ship Bottom, NJ, and Lenora Fellman (Brooke) of Pennsburg, PA.  Marie is also survived by her grandchildren: Tara Nash (Brad), Ryan Lankford, Megan Lankford (Costanzo) (Jim), Garrett Fellman (Micki), Kyle Fellman (Kaylie), Stephanie Bustamante, Robert Masten and Joshua Masten. Additionally, she is survived by 6.5 great-grandchildren, her sister Josephine Thoreson of Manahawkin, NJ, and several nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Masten, her son, Robert R. Masten, her parents, R. Samuel Valenza and Lenora Valenza, and her brothers Anthony and Nicholas Valenza. 

Services will be held on June 14, 2024 at St. Catherine of Siena Church 321 Witmer Rd, Horsham PA 19044.  Visitation will be from 10 am -10:45 am.  Funeral Mass at 11am.

 Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
