Martin Charles Blankenhorn III (Tim) passed away unexpectedly at his home in Ivyland, PA on June 19, 2025. Born on July 7, 1948, he was the son of Martin and Irma (Litke) Blankenhorn.
Tim grew up in Willow Grove where he was active in the Boy Scouts, becoming one of his troop’s youngest Eagle Scouts. He served in the Army Reserves and graduated from Drexel University with his master's degree in Civil Engineering. Tim worked his entire career for the Army Corp of Engineers. A resident of Ivyland, Pennsylvania for almost 50 years, his nephews fondly remember many summer days spent in their uncle’s pool, enjoying cookouts in his backyard with family while escaping from the summer heat. Tim was a physical fitness devotee and walked five miles daily through his community and Tyler State Park reveling in nature's wonders and cordially engaging with others along his way. He was an amateur radio enthusiast, enjoyed swimming, boating and collecting and maintaining sports cars.
He is survived by his sister, Nina Henry (Charles), his nephew, Ryan Henry (Jennifer) and his baby grandnephew, Reed Henry. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his young nephew, Adam Henry. Tim also shared his life with his long time companion, Patricia Huffman. At Tim’s request, no service will be held, but please think of him the next time you might catch a glimpse of summer's sun sparkling and dancing on the waterway. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to Tyler State Park.
