Michael L. Butera Sr.

Michael Lawrence Butera, 90, passed away peacefully at home on May 20, 2024.  

Son of Carmela and Salvatore Butera, Mike was born May 3,1934 in Brooklyn NY.  

He graduated from St. Augustine HS, received a BBA from  Pace University in NY and obtained a Masters Degree in accounting from Baruch College.  Mike pursued an accounting career rising to a controller for Peat Marwick, Mitchell & Co. for many years. 

He relocated to the Philadelphia area in 1986 where he served as a financial executive for a law firm, was the co founder of Fax Bureau Inc. and the controller for Network Synergy until his retirement in 2019.  

Michael married his high school sweetheart, Anne and was a devoted husband for 67 years. 

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. 

Mike was a very giving man and readily volunteered his time to serve in various roles in his children’s schools, his churches and his community. 

He leaves behind his wife Anne, sons Michael (Teresa) and Richard (Cleo) , daughters Susan (Dana), Annmarie (Sam) and grandchildren Michael, Christiana (Zach), Matthew (Sara ), Anthony and Gregory and great grandchild, Dominic.  He is also survived by his sister, Grace Sanfilippo, 3 nephews and 5 nieces. 

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Tuesday evening May 28, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090, and on Wednesday morning May 29, 2024 from 9:30am to 10:15am at St. David RC Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove PA 19090.  Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30am.

Interment will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
