Miriam Edna (Langley) McGettigan

Miriam Edna McGettigan of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania passed away on June 24,2026. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas McGettigan, her daughter Karen McGettigan, and her parents Harry and Viola Langley. She is survived by her Sister Joan Miller (William), her sons Kevin and Mark McGettigan (Paula), her daughter Colleen Dorrance (Kevin), her granddaughter Kelly Giuliani (Christopher), her grandsons Matthew McGettigan, Connor and Ryan Dorrance, great grandson Nico Giuliani, and many extended family members and close friends.

Miriam was born on November 7, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Abington High School class of 1953. She proudly earned her Registered Nursing Degree from Abington Hospital School of Nursing in 1956. Although she initially served as a pediatric nurse, she went on to work in geriatric and family practice nursing. She also served as a school nurse at Saint David Catholic School in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.

Miriam was a devoted, loving and loyal daughter, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, mother-in-law, and aunt who gave of herself unselfishly to all who loved her throughout her entire life. She was always adored for her loving, calm demeanor even in times of hardship. She was a tremendous source of comfort to all who knew her. She was known as an exceptional, professional and caring nurse for most of her adult life and she was always very proud of her career.

Relatives and Friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday August 8, 2026 at 11am at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Rd, Ambler, PA 19002.  There will be a brief visitation before the service from 10am to 10:45am.

Interment will be private.
