Patricia A. Frederick, age 80, passed away on October 21, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Patsy was born on April 23, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA to James and Elizabeth Moore. She met the love of her life, C. Michael Mars, at Cardinal Dougherty High School. She and Mickey were married in January, 1964. Mickey preceded her in death in 1969 but remained her true love for the rest of her life. Patsy is survived by her six children, Clifford Mars (Mary Pat), Christopher Mars (Jenny), Patricia Conran (Patrick), William Frederick (Jenn), Beth Moser (Dan) and Teri Anderson (Ryan). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, her sisters Eileen Richart, Kathleen Piechoski, Dorothy Currie (John), and Rosemarie Dietz (Chris) and her sisters-in-law Mariann Judge (Michael) and Jean Moore. She was predeceased by her son Cole Peter, her parents, her brother James Moore, and her sisters Margaret DeSantis, Mary Marett and Elizabeth Anne Burns. Patsy often talked about the fun times she had growing up with her siblings in her Mount Airy neighborhood. Patsy loved to be with children and was blessed to be surrounded by children throughout her life, from younger siblings to her children and grandchildren.
Patsy loved being around family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting around a pool, drinking coffee, and chatting with her seven sisters. Patsy, being a true Philadelphian, would always say that her favorite place to go was Wildwood, NJ. Her heart had no bounds and her capacity for love was endless. She shared this love with all the people that she met. Always wanting to be close to those she loved, she volunteered at Saint Alphonsus school for lunch duty for many years and also volunteered at the polls for elections. She was a Cub Scout den leader for Pack 634 for many years. She was very proud of her three sons and two grandsons who achieved Eagle Scout. Patsy was a Sudoku, crossword, and trivia wiz, winning many prizes in her last years at Neshaminy Manor. She was resilient and could fix almost anything, whether it was using her sewing talents to create a Halloween costume or her tools to repair a sink. She was employed for many years as a secretary in the insurance industry.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 27 from 8:30 to 10:15AM at Bryers funeral home in Willow Grove, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at Saint Alphonsus Church in Maple Glen, PA. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre cemetery, where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved Mickey. In lieu of flowers, donations to Autism Speaks or to Neshaminy Manor in Warrington, PA would be appreciated.
