Paul James Lynn, 102 years old, formerly of Horsham, PA, died peacefully on Friday, December 19, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1923 (Constitution Day).
He joins his bride, Mary E. Lynn, who preceded him in death. He loved his family and is survived by his son Paul, his daughter-in-law, Frankie, and his grandchildren Fiona and Damien, and Owen, and his great-grandson, Luca; his son Mark; and his daughter, Teresa, his son-in-law, Ken Plunkett, and his grandchildren, Dan, Tim and Meghan, and Mary and Rob.
In life Paul was a gentleman, a scholar and a judge of good whiskey. He was truly a gentleman as shown in the tender love and care he gave to his bride, Mary, for over 70 years.
As a scholar, he was known for his curiosity and his desire for learning never waned. He loved hearing and telling stories. He found beauty in simple everyday things and places. Delighting in conversation with anyone he met, he tried to brighten each one’s day with a song, a joke, a compliment or a sincere question about their life.
He grew up in Swampoodle in Philadelphia and graduated from Roman Catholic High School in 1941. He met his bride at the Swing Club in Philadelphia and they married after his service in WWII in Europe.
He served as a corporal in Europe during WWII in the Army in the 291st Military Police Company.
In his career with Strawbridge and Clothier, he began as a furniture salesman and retired as a manager in Jenkintown. In later years he did long term temp work for McNeil, Aetna and Xerox.
His interests included genealogy, woodworking and art. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and of the VFW.
He lived at the Southeastern Veterans Center in Spring City, PA since 2020 where he made many friends and found an extended family who he dearly loved.
There is no doubt he is a judge of good whiskey. It is the hope of those who love him that he will find only the best in eternity.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church at 321 Witmer Rd., Horsham, PA 19044 at 11 A.M., on Friday January 9, 2026.
