Raymond Clark Sr., 84, of Ardsley passed away on September 1, 2021. He was a loving husband to Peggy, father to Raymond Jr. (Jeanne) and Peggy (Joe), grandfather to Raymond III (Kim), Kaitlin (Eric), Megan (Dan), Jennifer, Colleen, Rebecca (Justin) and Joey, and great-grandfather to Finn, Eleanor, Jane, Penelope and Raymond IV.
His family will remember him as a gentle giant, a man with a warm embrace and soft voice who could fix anything from a broken pipe to a broken heart. He overcame the hardships and obstacles of his life with faith, grace and kindness. As a husband, he was loving and patient, married for nearly 64 years to Peggy. As a father, he worked hard to provide for his children, Ray and Peggy, always wishing that his kids would be better and have more than he did. As a grandfather, he was a big kid at heart, quick with jokes, smiles, laughter and love. As a great grandfather, he spent hours carefully holding small babies and joyfully watching toddlers run in wild circles.
At the end of his life, battling with dementia, his biggest concern was the safety of the children. We are grateful his suffering has ended and his soul is finally at peace.
His memory will live on as we hold dear the things he loved: his deep faith in Jesus and the Blessed Mother, Western movies, woodworking, floating in the ocean, and several slices of coconut cake with a big cup of coffee.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Tuesday September 7, 2021 at 10:30am, at Queen of Peace RC Church, 820 N Hills Ave, Glenside, PA 19038 (at the corner of North Hills Avenue & Fitzwatertown Road). Visitation in church from 9:30am to 10:15am.
Interment will be private.
Lovingly written by his granddaughter Megan, whom he held, protected and loved from the very first hours of her life to the very last hours of his.
