Theresa Marie (Amon) Davis

Theresa Marie {Amon} Davis, 81, beloved wife of John, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Theresa was born at home on Willard Street in Kensington, Philadelphia on Saturday, November 23, 1940, to Theresa Catherine DeWald and Bella Ignatius Amon.

Theresa grew up in a large family of nine brothers and sisters with her faith at the center. She attended St. Benedict’s Elementary School, and graduated from Little Flower High School. She graduated from Nassau County Hospital in 1960 and worked as an X-Ray technician at Einstein Hospital in Philadelphia. After moving to Kulpsville in 1971, Theresa worked at Gwynedd Mercy College until she retired at the age of sixty. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Theresa is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, John, her four children, Jon (wife Susan), Wayne (wife Carolyn), Chris (wife Carolyn), Regina Kelly (husband Daniel), and her ten grandchildren, Ian (fiancée Kara), Kyle, Corina (husband Eric), Colin, Danielle (fiancé John), Liam, Stephen, Sean, Maggie, and Olivia. Theresa is also survived by her niece, Carol, with whom she grew up and many younger nieces and nephews.

Theresa took immense joy in gathering family and friends for holiday celebrations, birthdays and especially Sunday dinners. Family traditions were important to Theresa, but none more so than secret Santa stockings at Christmas. Family and friends were at the center of her world.

Many nights were spent sitting around the large oak dining table with family and friends either doing puzzles, playing games, and if you were lucky enough, sharing lobster tail  on New Year’s Eve. She spent her life nurturing her friendships with her St Benedict's classmates, or ‘sorority sisters’. In Theresa’s house, the most priceless pieces were the treasured homemade artwork, cards and photos from her children and grandchildren, lovingly hung up so she could keep her family close even when they could not be there.  She continued to add to her collection until she passed. She has left friends and family with a lifetime of memories.

Visitation will be held at John J. Bryers Funeral Home (406 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090) on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held the next day, Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Catherine of Siena  Catholic Church (321 Witmer Road, Horsham, PA 19044).

Interment will follow at 12:45pm at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery,  830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.  Please meet at the Public Information Center (Click here for map of the cemetery)
