William Wurst Obituary

William (Bill) Thomas Wurst, age 83, of Ocala, Florida, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Born on February 25, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bill lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.

Bill was a devoted husband to Patricia Anne Wurst for 61 wonderful years. Their love story was one of partnership and unwavering support, a testament to the bond they shared. Together, they raised a beautiful family, and Bill took great pride in being a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his children, Kenneth Wurst (Karen), Lori Dondero (Larry), and Richard Wurst (Sheryl); his brother, Gary Wurst (Barbara); as well as five cherished grandchildren and seven adoring great-grandchildren.

For 37 years, Bill dedicated his career to the Sheet Metal Workers, Local 19, where he was known for his hard work and commitment. His contributions to the trade were significant, and he was respected by his peers for his skill and integrity.

Beyond his professional life, Bill was a man of many passions. He found joy in painting. A lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan, he relished the camaraderie of fellow fans and the thrill of game days. Bill had a unique gift for making people laugh, often sharing his quick-witted one-liners that brought smiles to those around him. He cherished the moments spent talking with his children, always eager to stay connected and involved in their lives.

Bill also served on the Marion Landing Board of Directors, where he contributed his time and energy to enhance the community he loved. His commitment to service and his warm spirit left a lasting impact on those who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Mildred Wurst, who instilled in him the values of kindness and hard work that he carried throughout his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Bill's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101, or online at stjude.org. This was a cause close to his heart, reflecting his compassion for children and families in need.
