After Glow
I’d like the memory of me
to be a happy one,
I’d like to leave an afterglow
of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo
whispering softly down the ways,
of happy times and laughing
times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those
who grieve, to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave
when life is done.

Celtic
Grieve not…
nor speak of me with tears…
but laugh and talk of me…
as though I were beside you.
I loved you so…
‘twas Heaven here with you.

Come To Me
God saw you were getting tired,
and a cure was not to be,
so he put his arms around you
and whispered, “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

Crossing The Bar
Crossing the Bar
Sunset and evening
star, and one clear call
For me!  And let there
be no moaning of the
bar when I put out to sea.
But such a tide as
moving seems asleep,
too full for sound or
foam, when that which
drew from out the
boundless deep turns
again home.
-Alfred Tennyson

Dad
We’ll always Remember
That special smile,
that caring heart.
That warm embrace
you always gave us.
You being there
for mom and us
through good and bad times
no matter what.
We’ll always remember
you, Dad, because
there’ll never be anyone
to replace you in our hearts
and the love we will always
have for you.

Do Not Grieve
When I must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears.  And hug your sorrow to you through the years.  But start out bravely with a gallant smile; and for my sake and in my name, live on and do all things the same; feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways, reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comfort you and hold you near; and never, never be afraid to die.  For I am waiting for you in the sky!

Fill Not Your Hearts
Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow.  Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I’ve only gone to rest a little while.  Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief.  So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be.  Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile.  Understand, in your hearts, I’ve only gone to rest a little while.  As long as I have the love of each of you, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.

Fireman's Prayer
When I am called to duty, God, whenever flames may rage, give me strength to save some life, whatever be its age.  Help me embrace a little child before it is too late, or save an older person from the horror of that fate.  Enable me to be alert and hear the weakest shout, and quickly, and efficiently to put the fire out.  I want to fill my calling, and to give the best in me, to guard my every neighbor and protect his property.  And if, according to my fate, I am to lose my life, please bless with your protecting hand my family, friends and wife.

Fisherman's Prayer
God Grant me that I may live to fish until my dying day and when it comes to my last task, I most humbly pray, that in the Lord’s safe handling net I’m peacefully asleep.  In His mercy that I be judged big enough to keep.

Footprints
One night a man had a dream.  In it he was walking along a beach with the Lord.  Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.  For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand, one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the final scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.  He noticed many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints, and realized that they came at the hardest and saddest times of his life. Bothered about this, he questioned the Lord saying, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.  But I have noticed that during the most burdensome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me." The Lord replied, "My dear child, I love you and I would never leave you.  During the times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Memorare
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to Thy protection, implored Thy help, and sought Thy intercession was left unaided.  Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto Thee, O Virgin of virgins.  My Mother!  To Thee I come; before Thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful.  Oh Mother of the Word incarnate!  Despise not my petitions, but in Thy mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

Mom
We’ll always Remember
That special smile
that caring heart.
That warm embrace
you always gave us.
You being there
for dad and us,
through good and bad times
no matter what.
We’ll always remember
you mom because
there’ll never be anyone
to replace you in our hearts.
And the love we will always
have for you.

“The Magic of a Mother’s Touch”
There’s magic in a Mother’s touch, and sunshine in her smile.  There’s love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile. We can find both hope and courage just by looking in her eyes.  Her laughter is a source of joy, her words are warm and wise.  There is a kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace, and we see the light of heaven shining from a Mother’s face.

23rd Psalm
The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.  Fresh and green are the pastures where he gives me repose.  Near restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit.  He guides me along the right path; he is true to his name.  If I should walk in the Valley of Darkness, no evil would I fear.  You are there with your crook and your staff; with these you give me comfort.  You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes.  My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing.  Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life.  In the lord’s own house shall I dwell forever and ever.

Safely Home
I am home in Heaven dear ones: Oh, so happy and so bright!  There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still; try to look beyond earth shadows, Pray to trust our Father’s will. There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand: do it now, while life remaineth you shall rest in Jesus’ land. When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; oh the rapture of that meeting, oh the joy to see you come!

Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change....
Courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.  Amen.

St. Francis of Assisi
"Lord make me an instrument of Thy peace; where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy"

"O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, and it is in pardoning, that we are pardoned and it is in dying, that we are born to eternal life."

When I Am Gone
When I am gone, release me, let me go.  I have so many things to see and do, you mustn’t tie yourself to me with tears.  Be thankful for our beautiful years. I gave to you my love.  You can only guess how much you gave to me in happiness.  I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it’s time I traveled on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if grieve you must, then let your grief be comforted by trust, it’s only for a time that we must part, so bless the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away, for life goes on, though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near.  All my love around you soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile, and say “Welcome Home.”

Irish Blessing
May the road
rise to meet you.
May the wind
be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm
upon your face
and rains fall soft
upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you
in the hollow of His hand.
An Old Irish Blessing

"The Lord's Prayer" Catholic

Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who
trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen
